Luis Montoya and Leslie Ortiz are the internationally known sculpture team recognized for their lush bronze sculpture of fruits, vegetables, and most recently sea forms.

By drastically changing the scale of objects as familiar as a pear or an apple they encourage the viewer to recreate the awe of that first look. Ripe sensuality of form and color belie the transitory fragility of the flesh in these bronze sculptures of dramatic proportion. The Sheer physical presence of form is overwhelming.

The work of Montoya and Ortiz is uniquely characterized by their virtuoso techniques of surface coloration. Exquisite layering and subtlety of color is achieved through the use of heat and chemicals to produce surface patinas that echo the nuances of nature.
